A familiar label has latched onto the recent trance revival with his latest offering, Trance Wax, featuring four tracks from established artists that can’t be named, presumably due to sample clearance. The trance resurgence has seen DJs like Space Dimension Controller and Nina Kraviz playing long forgotten euphoric anthems from the 90s at the climaxes of their sets.
‘Trance Wax 2’ is no different, blending the original by CRW with another of the biggest revivals of the last 12 months – breakbeat. With an impassioned vocal that will have people reaching for the lasers and a melancholy melody that dips and dives in the background, it gains momentum before dropping into a thunderous broken beat breakdown. You might want to hate it, but trance is coming back, with all the cheese and euphoria of years gone by; it’s time to embrace it.
