A recent addition to 22a’s tight-knit hub of musical activity, Dennis Ayler has brought a smokey, late night feel on his first two releases, full of jazz-indebted, soulful broken-beat workings. The title track of his third EP, ‘Nobody But U’, also looks to Tenderlonious, whose vocals add a sultry quality, his words flirting with the intended listener as he encourages her to dance. Any attempts to resist are futile with a groove like this.
