Paris platform Delicieuse Musique have been a vital resource in a heavily-congest mixtape marketplace, rising to the top for its ease of use (press play and you’re off for the next few uninterrupted hours) and consistent curation. Their label, Noire & Blanche, is just over a year old, but looks to be following a similar path as the housier sounds found on their site.
Following first releases from Folamour and STW Advent Calendar contributor Loure, fellow Parisian Tell delivers the four-track Cool Bananas EP. With a tape under his belt last year on Coastal Haze, you can get a sense for the kind of dreamy yet punchy sound that sparked the collaboration. That’s continued here on EP highlight ‘Camel Ride’, with marimba flecks and bird calls lending a tropical edge to a collection that lives up to the label’s mission for traversing the dark and light.
