Some of you might recognise the name Lonelyspeck from our Advent Calendar series last month, where we offered up the Adelaide-based producer’s otherworldly track ‘Given‘ as a free download. Bathing in opulent amounts of carbonated fizz, the three-minute journey through spacey vocals and warm chords is part of a larger masterpiece, the six-track Presence EP that we never got a proper chance to shout about.
As the newest release on the PLZ Make It Ruins label (headed by London-based off-kilter-rhythm-specialist Vegyn), the EP is a heavenly continuation of left field post-dubstep vibes that the label has gained a reputation of championing. Each track is bursting with woozy textures that expand and contract alongside mellow vocals that shimmer in and out. Aptly titled Presence, the EP has plenty of it.
