Premiere: Remotif – Ladybird

Summer lurks around the corner, somewhere, and with it has come a new wave of music inspired by warmer climates. Bristol-based producer Remotif has had a busy start to 2021 with the release of an EP for air miles and now he’s gearing up for a new record on Pleasant Life.

Due for release at the beginning of July, it marks the second release on the record label run by London via Glasgow DJ Ally Tropical, who kicked off proceedings last summer with a record from Amsterdam-based duo Darling. According to Remotif himself The Sound of Hope Played Backwards is an ode to tribal records of the 90s, featuring four tracks which wander between ambient, downtempo, house and leftfield electronics

Our pick ‘Ladybird’ is one of the more club-ready cuts on the EP with racing percussion, rising arpeggios and a woozy sunkissed peak moment ready to do damage on the dancefloors this summer – hopefully.

The Sound of Hope Played Backwards will be released on 2nd July via Pleasant Life.
