Red Bull Music Academy have never been afraid to push the boat out with their events, so now they’re turning 15 you’d expect the celebrations to be pretty special. For starters, how does the London Eye sound for a venue? Still not enough? Chuck in some of the UK’s biggest clubs and club nights, hosting 50 their favourite DJs and artists. This sounds like some kind of silly dare, but it’s actually becoming a reality next month. Tickets go on sale at 10am tomorrow at Revolutions In Sound, and all proceeds go to Wings for Life charity.
If you’re not quick enough to get a ticket in one of the capsules, you still have two other options to take in the party. A 2000 capacity silent disco will allow guests to tune into any capsule at ground level and, in a world first in live-streaming, all thirty capsules will be broadcast simultaneously on Channel4.com in the UK, and globally on Red Bull’s YouTube.
Something else to look out for is the launch of the Revolutions in Sound website, a Google-powered, user-generated hub for exploring clubs, past and present. More information on that will be coming soon.
