Rounding up their first ever tour across North America, UK House/Garage duo Disclosure graced a perked-up mob of Portland’ers for one final show on the West Coast before heading down to Cali to close out Coachella Festival. The brotherly outfit have certainly not let their ascendance go to their heads, with a performance that was far more focused on producing an intricately polished live show (equipped with a full drum kit and a cornucopia of samplers/keyboards) rather than just DJ’ing in snapbacks looking too cool for school. So it was instantly clear that these youthful kids are all about the music.
Their vocal driven two-step gems had the 200-capacity sold-out venue grooving unstoppably from start to finish, accompanied by some incredible Disclosure face graphics and strobe lights that soaked the whole crowd. The boys debuted new single You and Me with accompanying vocals from British Pop singer Eliza Doolittle, joining a pretty astounding string of successful dancefloor hits this year.
Before ending the show with the RnB laced track Latch, the Lawrence brothers debuted another new track that caught everyone’s attention. Untitled for the time being, it stepped away from their usual House/Garage arrangements and creeped into 125BPM territory infused with 80’s drum samples and G-Funk basslines.
A very interesting note before ending the show – we look forward to seeing if it’ll make it onto their full-length debut album Settle, being released in the UK in June.
