Premiere: Frits Wentink – Bouquet At Rest

Dutch producer Frits Wentink tables his mastery in grainy, lo-fi, analog tones on his latest Horses In Cornfield EP. Marking the third release on his own Bobby Donny imprint, it follows on from the fuzzy, spiralling textures heard on the much-lauded Rarely Pure Never Simple LP released earlier this year on WOLF Music.

Our pick of the four, is the final track and we’re delighted to give you the first listen. Wentink rouses energy with a relentless kick and dry gritty percussion, yet simultaneously mellows the mood with whirring piano lines made extra hazy as they pass through an assault course of effects. A little like that well worn pair of kicks you just refuse to get rid of, except Frits’s pair never loses its shine.

Horses In Cornfield EP is released on 16th November – pre-order from Juno. Look out for a special Covering The Tracks interview on the whole EP dropping soon.
