Video Premiere: Stuart McCallum feat. J.P. Cooper – City

After witnessing firsthand the absorbing artistry of jazz guitarist Stuart McCallum alongside master drummer and co-writer Richard Spaven earlier this summer, this new album was always going to be hard to resist. City LP blends melodic nuances and refined textures akin to contemporary jazz fusion with electronic swells, creating beautiful musical soundscapes.

We’re delighted to premiere some brand new visuals for the title track, which elegantly pays homage to McCallum’s home-town of Manchester. Rick J. Sims beautifully merges semi-opaque silhouettes with footage of the Mancunian skyline and individual scenes creating the perfect imagery alongside J.P. Cooper’s seductive vocal hooks. Keeping the images of the city obscure and using darker tones for the colour palette Sims manifests an air of mystery making for an absorbing watch over an equally mesmeric track.

City LP is available now on CD via Naim Jazz Records. It will be available on Vinyl from the 10th October.
