Tony G’s latest offering is decidedly ambient/dub techno in nature, with a rolling breeze sample washing over the beginnings of a thumping kick-drum. Slowly synth chords take centre stage, with a syncopated bassline now in full swing. Building to a plateau before fading just as it had arrived, ‘Plesiosauria’ is as majestic as the ocean-dwelling creatures that it takes its name from.
Released on Cosmic Pint Glass, the track has two other mixes; one beatless and even more spaced out, and another more light-hearted take on the melody by Lauer. The three complete each other nicely, drawing your attention to various elements in the original while each bringing a different take on the melody.
