Arnaldo has quietly been releasing music for almost four years now, on a selection of labels focused on stripped back house and techno like Aim, Smallville and Blank Slate. His music relies less on light-dark contrast and more on warm-cold, with a general focus on texture and atmospherics. ‘I Keep Doing This’ shows an intelligent progression, in which he fills the space left over by his slight drums with an achingly gorgeous chord progression and a strange, chiming melody of keys/bells. Most impressively, the track could slot almost anywhere into a set, from warming up to a teary, peak time ‘quiet moment.’
