Soundcloud has become a hotbed for grassroots artists wanting to share their music, and is increasingly effective in diminishing the degrees of separation between the maker and the potential listeners. At times, however, you may make a new musical discovery which has actually been right under your nose the whole time. This was the case with London-via-Leeds artist, Sephirot.
Towards the end of last year, we came across ‘Broken and Corruscating’, a track which succeeds in marrying a throng of different influences and styles into one exquisite soundscape story. Syncopated African rhythm patterns and showers of glittering percussion fill the changing densities of warm ARP synths and Rhodes beautifully, as the captivating rainforest of sound flows between house, dance, bass and everything else in between!
