Esoteric producer, Nomine, releases his hypnotic track ‘Nomine’s Chant’ on label Tempa. What could be stylistically boxed as sino-dubstep, draws upon tribal exoticism in its vocal samples, as well as slow paced rhythm and dub-inspired evolution to create its chant-like hypnosis. More curiously, the track stands isolated in its ritual-like nature from the EP’s other two tracks of pure dubstep orientation, almost posing as a spiritual prelude in anticipation of what the rest of the EP has to offer. Striking in its originality and serenity, ‘Nomine’s Chant’ is a new downtempo favourite.
