Jackson Fester’s organic, dub-wise experiments first piqued our interests a couple of years back. His Overtime EP on Sydney’s Best Effort was our introduction to his warm, hazy compositions under the moniker Cousin – we even nabbed a premiere of the A1 ‘Welcome’.
Further explorations into dubbed-out territories came on Moonshoe Records, where he went on to release three EPs, but now, for the first time, he’s making the journey across the pond to release on Berlin-based duo Nummer‘s eponymous label. Marking their 10th release, the five tracks on Hudson flaunt much of the same flavours we’ve come to know of Cousin: a dreamy melange of dub, downtempo and deep house.
