Our eyes have been firmly fixed on Tel Aviv producer, multi-instrumentalist and video artist Alek Lee since his earliest outing for Zaltan’s Antinote Records. His percussive, guitar-laden electronics led to a follow up EP on the label in 2018, and since then he’s contributed tracks to a bunch of solid compilations on the likes of Rhythm Section, Correspondant and our own Isolation Therapy and Advent Calendar VAs.
Between his other work as part of groups Shame On Us and Project Runaway, he’s self-released a couple of singles last year — complete with edits and instrumentals of course — and now he’s returning with another self-backed outing ‘Girl Dealers’, released digitally in full on the 19th August. Bolstered by a dub and club version, and a bunch of other remixes from Autarkic, Mushrooms Project, Rina x Benji & Shimi Sonic, the original layers Alek’s sluggish vocals over a low-slung, boogie-driven beat, ripe with guitar strums and vibrant synth lines.
The full Girl Dealers EP will be out digitally on 19th August via Alek Lee’s Bandcamp.
The Girl Dealers premiere party will take place on Thursday 19th August at the Breakfast Club, Tel Aviv, with a new live show premiere from Alek Lee, and DJ sets from Hectik and Benji.
