Premiere: Manara – Dhak Dhak x J Sweet (Live Blend)

In response to the ongoing COVID-19 crisis in India, we’ve teamed up with Daytimers – a UK-based collective which celebrates South Asian artistry – to release a compilation featuring tracks from artists of South Asian heritage, with all profits raised being distributed between several trusted charities providing much-needed relief on the ground.

Proceeding Daytimers’ first charity compilation in aid of Restless Beings, DT002 brings together 15 acclaimed and up-and-coming artists, including Kindness, Pooja B, Suchi, Nahi Mitti and Ayesha, as well as members of the Daytimers crew, for a 14-track release that spans all corners of the electronic music spectrum.

London-based DJ and producer Manara is revered for her skills behind the decks, in the club and on her radio shows for Rinse FM, BBC Asian Network and NTS. Also known for her being a dab hand on the club edit, for this live blend she weaves vocals from Hindi classic ‘Dhak Dhak Karne Laga’, taken from the ’91 film Beta, with the naughty dubstep vibrations of J Sweet’s 2005 cut ‘Kerb’.

Profits will be distributed evenly to the below charities through Mumbai-based music and culture agency Wavlngth’s fundraiser: Hemkunt Foundation, Goonj and Citta India.

DT002 will be released on Friday 18th June via Daytimers Bandcamp. Artwork created by anu.
