Partners in both work and play, Swiss natives Luc and Lou—the minds behind psycho-romantic band Reymour—eloped from their hometown of Fribourg to the Belgian capital of Brussels to start afresh.
It’s in this period of transition and adjustment that their debut album, Leviosa, was written. A follow up to their first release Sarabande à Deux, which came via CAF? last year, the 11 tracks across the LP straddle different times and spaces, exploring feelings of anxiety, sexual orientation, feminism and melancholy, delivered via Lou’s reflective vocals.
Released on Amsterdam’s Knekelhuis, a perfect home for the band’s nostalgia-inducing sonics, Leviosa marries chanson, synthpop and minimal wave influences, resulting in a record that feels completely and utterly timeless.
