Time and time again London’s On the Corner has proved itself to be more than just a record label; since 2013 it’s provided a platform for both artists and sounds from across the globe to meet, evolve and thrive together.
Their next release builds on this ethos even further by bringing together a host of artists, both returning and fresh, for a 24-track compilation that explores futuristic sonics rooted in everything from deep, soulful house to afro-centric rhythms, Kuduro and UK Bass.
Aptly titled Door To The Cosmos, an ode to afro-futurist Sun Ra’s infamous chant “dare to knock at the door to the cosmos”, the compilation features the likes of Lisbon’s Batida, Glasgow DJ and WWFM resident Rebecca Vasmant, Cuban-Iranian outfit Ariwo, L.A. legend, Jose Marquez and our pick from recent Livity Sound signee Azu Tiwaline who, alongside regular collaborator Cinna Peyghamy, delivers her distinct blend of hypnotic dub, electronica and Saharan berber influences.
