For the next instalment on Glasgow via London imprint Astral Black, label boss Jon Phonics has extended another invitation to Scottish DJ and producer Creep Woland, who steps up to the plate with four jungle cuts aimed directly at the dance floor.
Having debuted on the label back in 2017 with Close Reading, a collection of beats, instrumentals and electronica, his return signals a more refined sound, honing in on the rolling bass and breaks that he grew up with. Informed by the experiences he’s had since that first release, be that soundtracking the dance floors of nightclubs or gracing the radio airwaves, Chamberlain showcases a collection of fine-tuned, bass heavy cuts that perfectly exhibit his growth as a producer.
From the get go the release flaunts crisp heavy breaks, all the way through to our pick, closing number ‘Lord Chamberlain’. Bringing the EP to an apt and hopeful finish, the track was written during a time of personal hardship for Creep Woland and channels a sonic representation of the proverbial light at the end of the tunnel at this time in his life.
Chamberlain will be out on 8th May – grab your copy.
