Premiere: Romaal Kultan – Everlasting Romance

The ever soulful Tiff’s Joints welcome another talented producer to the family for the label’s seventh release, South London producer and multi-instrumentalist Romaal Kultan. Having first introduced the world to his soulful explorations with his contribution to volume one of Touching Bass’ Afro Chronicles back in 2017, he’s since remixed Detroit mainstay Javonntte and K15 and Emerson’s Profusion project, before releasing his debut solo offering on South London’s YAM Records in 2019.

He follows that up this year with his sophomore release, Everlasting Romance, and we couldn’t think of a platform better placed to host it than London’s Tiff’s Joints. Since launching in 2016, the label – run by DJ/producer Sean Keating AKA Poison Zcora – has been a home to the percussive and warm syncopated rhythms of Colm K, Laroye, Hazards of Prophecy and Deoke, encapsulating a distinct musical flavour that has become the backbone of the imprint’s sonic universe.

Today’s premiere, title track ‘Everlasting Rhythm’, takes things down a notch following the dance floor-focused rhythms of the A-Side, layering beautiful chords and shimmering synths over a warm, loose dembow rhythm and a fuzzy low end.

Everlasting Romance is out on 1st May – grab your copy.
