Premiere: Poison Zcora – Victory Over The British Museum

It’s been six whole years since Glasgow via London label and party Astral Black celebrated their first birthday. The momentous occasion was marked by the release of the first instalment of their Frass FM compilation series, which brought together tracks from the label’s nearest and dearest.

They’ve been continuing that lineage ever since, bringing new and old artists into the fold, and now they’re ready to release the the fifth piece of the Frass FM puzzle. The 16 exclusive tracks sees head honcho Jon Phonics enlist some of the UK’s most exciting artists in the world of club, bass, breaks and beats, from 6 Figure Gang’s Jossy Mitsu and Rinse FM resident Izco to close returning Astal Black fam Shy One, Sivey and Xao, who handled the label’s last solo release.

Our pick of the bunch comes from Tiff’s Joints boss Poison Zcora, formally known as Born Cheating, and marks his production debut under his new moniker. ‘Victory At The Museum’ is a straight up broken beat shuffler with subtle licks of percussion, twinkling keys and harmonious whirring synths.
