Polish producer Earth Trax‘ production talents have taken many shapes and forms over the years. A pioneering force for Polish contemporary electronic music, his releases as one half of Ptaki could be credited with being the first to really turn the UK on to the wealth of amazing producers coming out of Poland.
Ptaki may have called it a day but out of the ashes came Earth Trax along with his ambient pursuits under his birth name Bartosz Kruczyński. As Earth Trax he’s released EPs for a string of labels including Dopeness Galore, Phonica Records and, with production partner Newborn Jr., on Les Yeux Orange, Echovolt, Rhythm Section and Shall Not Fade. The latter label is where his debut LP makes its home; covering a range of moods and tempos it touches all the different corners of the musical spectrum he’s explored through his various aliases, from cold wave and house to ambient, IDM and breaks.
Our pick is ‘Adhocracy’ which wields that signature Earth Trax stamp. Flaunting warm enveloping pads, it’s punctuated by fuzzy downtempo breaks, crisp hi hats and melodic synths that transport you up into the aether.
LP-1 is out on 7th March – pre-order your copy from Shall Not Fade.
