Day 12 of our 2019 charity Advent Calendar, in aid of War Child.
Antinote label mate and Paris-based producer D.K. delivers a signature tropical-tinged workout smattered in polyrhythmic drums and percussion heightened by soft twinkling melodies.
“I made this track last year after a tour in China. Around the same time, I was working on my last EP Rising. ‘Tryumph’ is an interlude between the Vol. 2 and 3 of my trilogy on Antinote, following the story of the Mystic Warrior. This time the warrior master is meditating and exploring his secret « Ki » power before the final battle.”
Our featured charity for 2019 is War Child, whose work in post-conflict zones is done a bit differently. They recognise humans need more than just food and shelter to flourish after a war, breaking the cycle that leads to repeated conflicts by giving them purpose, education and cultural enrichment.
The dance floor has long-since been a safe space for the displaced, marginalised and persecuted to find community and expression. Safe Spaces represent the core of War Child’s work, providing vital refuge for young people to play, learn and regain their childhood.
