Day 9 of our 2019 charity Advent Calendar, in aid of War Child.
A man of many guises, Polish producer Bartosz Kruczyński made his name as one half of electronic duo Ptaki, as well as making house and downtempo exploits under the monikers Earth Trax and The Phantom. It’s under his birth name that he explores the ambient, like on today’s gifting; soothing contemporary soundscapes peppered with synths.
“The track is an extension of my scores to Polish TV shows on modern art. I recorded about a hundred short, minimal and ambient backgrounds. This one plays on this, but adds traces of European chill out with biting Korg synths.”
Our featured charity for 2019 is War Child, whose work in post-conflict zones is done a bit differently. They recognise humans need more than just food and shelter to flourish after a war, breaking the cycle that leads to repeated conflicts by giving them purpose, education and cultural enrichment.
The dance floor has long-since been a safe space for the displaced, marginalised and persecuted to find community and expression. Safe Spaces represent the core of War Child’s work, providing vital refuge for young people to play, learn and regain their childhood.
