Premiere: Earth Trax & Newborn Jr. – Old Way, New Way

When Polish producers Earth Trax and Newborn Jr. come together for a release it always yields incredible results; their signature sound becoming instantly recognisable for its nods to Balearic, trance and breakbeat, reaching for nostalgic flute notes and melodic keys. Since their joint debut EP in 2016 for Bradley Zero’s Rhythm Section imprint, their musings have taken them to Echovolt, Dopeness Galore, Les Yeux Orange and the imprint they now return to for their forthcoming EP, Phonica Records.

Individually Earth Trax practices under the monikers Bartosz Kruczyński and Pejzaż, the former his outlet for ambient Balearic excursions and the latter a new project, which, much like his releases as half of Ptaki, uses cut and paste techniques to give new life to forgotten Polish gems. Newborn Jr. on the other hand has been venturing into the realms of rave, acid and techno with his live project Private Press alongside friend Jan, which has seen them release on Indigo Aera, REKIDS, Technosoul and Oblique Music.

Across their new four tracker Truth, which includes two mixes and two originals, the pair exercise the same winning formula. ‘Old Way, New Way’ is awash with lush pads and keys, introducing subtle breaks and flute notes at the half way point.

Truth will be released this month – pre-order your copy on the Phonica website.
