Since launching in 2017 Holding Hands has become the go to label for no frills dance floor slammers. It’s no easy feat to build a catalogue that, when you hear a tune, there’s an instant connection to the label in question, but head honcho Liam Wachs AKA Desert Sound Colony has managed just that.
Following blinding releases from Adam Pits, Breaka and DSC himself, Holding Hands return with Wum, the very first release from Fred Quest. After receiving a tip off from a friend, Liam got his hands on a bunch of tracks from Fred last year and within 10 seconds of listening he instantly knew these were Holding Hands material. Full of buzzing low end sub, broken drum work and crisp snares, our pick ‘Pearl’ pulls from those UK Garage and bass influences that have become affiliated with Holding Hands signature sound.
Wum will be released on 31st May via Holding Hands.
