Premiere: Alton Miller – The Storm

When it comes to soulful house, Detroit native Alton Miller is about as ingrained as it get. Peacefrog, Planet E, Moods & Grooves, Mahogoni and Sound Signature have all endorsed his talents and, with an album looming later in the year, Waella’s Choice sow the seeds with All Things Good. The fourth release from the London label, it follows efforts from Hanna, RANGEr and the London on Key compilation and features artwork by Alton’s favourite collagist Dogon Krigger.

Shying away on the underdog of all positions, B2 ‘The Storm’ offers one of the EP’s biggest treats. Vocals bordering on spoken word poetry caress the eight-minute duration, harking back to many of Kai Alcé’s most arresting remixes. Club music for the sensitive souls.

All Things Good EP is out 1st June – pre-order from Bandcamp and get an instant download of ‘The Storm’.

Art your thing? Waella’s Choice have some risograph prints available from London On Key artist Duval Timothy. Buy from Bandcamp.
