DJ Aakmael has been a long-time cultivator of the deep and soulful, from his home in Virginia. Much of his output has come through his own label Unxpozd, but he’s also linked up with Scissor & Thread, Freerange and Kolour LTD. Next up he joins the Alex Arnout’s Dogmatik kennel for a four-track debut, Dees Beats EP. On the B1, ‘Lost in Atlantis’ descends to the sonic sea floor with a Mike Dunn-esque deep, poetic timbre narrating throughout, linking up with Spanish guitar melodies and a low-slung bassline.
