Following a couple of 12s together in as many years for Frank Music, Johannes Albert & Johannes Paluka (aka Iron Curtis) take their Moon project into album territory for the first time. The nine tracks of Industrie & Zärtlichkeit contain rough sketches sprinkled with red melodies and swinging lose drum machine loops, ranging from classic electro, calm ambient textures and even a more soulful odyssey.
Enter ‘MFB Nights’, which takes little time to assert its intentions, opening with as much authority as a Metro Area beat – constructed from little more than a kick drum and claps. Soft piano chords and a soulful refrain filters in, massaging the mix like James Garcia does to an Omar-S joint. Thankfully it remains for the entirity, dancing around the electro warbles like a smoke around a late night flame.
Industrie & Zartlichkeit is out May 2017 on Frank Music – buy from Juno.
