Day 12: Reginald Omas Mamode IV – Show Love

Day 11 of our charity Advent Calendar in aid of The Steve Reid Foundation.

Today we are greeted with an unheard dusty joint from Peckham-based groove-junkie Reginald Omas Mamode IV. An off-cut from his recently released self-titled debut album via East London label Five Easy Pieces, we’re delighted to offer up a home to the affectionate bounce of ‘Show Love’.

Off-kilter sparse claps chime in with hissy hi-hats and a rich and dirty Fender Rhodes riff, the perfect marriage to Reggie’s seductive retro-lacquered vocals that ring out: ‘show love to one another’. Quite a fitting message for the holidays.

Download ‘Show Love’ from our Bandcamp. It’s pay-what-you-like, with all proceeds going to The Steve Reid Foundation, a charity founded by Gilles Peterson that aims to support musicians in dedication to the visionary jazz drummer.
