Day 11 of our charity Advent Calendar in aid of The Steve Reid Foundation.
Today we unwrap the perfect treat to soundtrack your Sunday evening, with an 80s boogie joint courtesy of Tel-Aviv born, Berlin-based artist Mo Rayon. The young producer is currently bubbling up in Berlin, and soon to release on Bradley Zero’s Rhythm Section International imprint later next year.
Putting his hands on 1985 space boogie jam ‘Tell Me (How It Feels)’ written by Nick Martinelli (Loose Ends/Teddy Pendergrass), the remix gets pitched down and coated in copious drum machine layers. It’s subtle, but the perfect accompaniment to an already groovy jam.
Download ‘Tell Me How It Feels (Mo Rayon Edit)’ from our Bandcamp. It’s pay-what-you-like, with all proceeds going to The Steve Reid Foundation, a charity founded by Gilles Peterson that aims to support musicians in dedication to the visionary jazz drummer.
Catch Mo Rayon in London on 4th February alongside Baba Stiltz and Samo DJ at The Pickle Factory.
