British born Kevin Gorman, better known as Adesse Versions has built a reputation as a seminal figure for the UK for his ability to construct versatile house music that can shift between many elements including tribal percussion, gospel vocals, sharp hi-hats and a keen eye for an edit.
As a very consistent producer, each release has been hotly-anticipated, including the latest EP Push It Along on Heist Recordings, the first time Detroit Swindle looks to the UK for their diamond-encrusted releases. Our pick features a Ge-Ology and Mark de Clive-Lowe (MdCL) on remix duties, flipping the original into a synth workout, with layers of glowing percussion and snarling hi-hats. With the steady bassline and progression of building layers reviving that classic house aesthetic, this is a refreshing addition to a modern release that showcases the past and the present.
Push It Along EP is out 7th November – pre-order from Juno.
