As they put the finishing touches to their third album for Delusions of Gradeur, we’re treated to Session Victim‘s first original material of the year with Matching Half EP. Premiered here in full, the title track lays down a disco groove with a simple rhodes riff going to work around the kick-drum, then some minor piano chords in the second half offers a melancholic euphoria for those teary hands in the air moments. Not a vocal in sight, but yet another Session Victim work full of emotion and feeling. On the b-side sits the slightly dubbier ‘Up To Rise’, while Byron The Aquarius takes on ‘Matching Half’ with some of that Atlanta rawness.
Matching Half EP is out 14th October (vinyl) and 21st October (digital) and is available to pre-order on Juno.
