Kicking on from an excellent release on Voyage, Youandewan is back on Aus with a debut album that’s arguably his finest work to date. A cosmic soundscape of electro, breaks and ambient pervade the LP, taking you on a late night trip of bleeps and noodly synth flourishes. Teaming up with regular studio partner Huerta for ‘Left on Lucy’, this is a track that could have been pulled straight out of a Galaxy 2 Galaxy EP from Underground Resistance’s back catalogue. Filled with a bounce and charm that manifests itself in rich pads and euphoric Soichi Terada style melodies, it playfully rolls out over the course of its six minute journey. The rest of the album is of a similar class and is definitely one of the best electronic music LP’s to have graced our ears this year.
