Premiere: Mount Liberation Unlimited – Maiden Voyage

With only two previous EPs to their name in two years Mount Liberation Unlimited don’t put out a record unless it’s considered and deliberate. It’s the Stockholm duo a mark of quality that’s hard to come by for a relatively short career, but netherless has one them favour with Francis Inferno Orchestra and Fantastic Man (for their EP on Superconscious) and now Tim Sweeney, whose Beats In Space Records provides the home for their third release.

The two tracks on (Eerie) For Your Love developed from their infamous live sets and into the studio and so, with the dancefloor as it’s foundation, the subsequently refined arrangements hold real potency. Our pick off the EP, ‘Maiden Voyage’, is a merry yet thoughtful and hypnotic seven minute journey through hazy synths, gritty distorted drum machines and panning arpeggios that build and layer ever so appropriately that will tick boxes for both DJ and dancer. A slow-burner that requires patience but maximum gratification.

(Eerie) For Your Love is out now on Beats in Space – buy from their website or Bandcamp. Watch the official video for the ‘(Eerie) For Your Love‘, which also included a short documentary with Tom and Niklas.
