Hand-picking the lead track from last year’s The Gales EP on Mule Musiq, Frank and Tony join a strong lineup for the seventh edition of the much-lauded I’m Starting to Feel OK compilation series. Joining Prins Thomas, Bell Towers and Fred P among others, the Brooklyn duo offer up ’Amadeo’, a typically deep, finely-crafted production of brooding, grayscale house.
The bassline in ‘Amadeo’ shows theit keen sense for a groove, as it keeps the song marching on toward its heavily filtered piano breakdown halfway through. The euphoria of these pianos displays a capability for throwing light over their music at just the right moments, adding colour to their bleached productions.
