The list of artists involved in Field Maneuvers festival last year read like a who’s who of the electronic music world. Held in the outskirts of London, it takes place at the very end of the season and with summer plans already being thrown about, the organisers have just published their list of returning residents for 2016.
Top of the billing are Ryan Elliott and Ben Sims, who return to FM each bringing their own unique spin on techno; Elliott with his eclectic and punchy range of styles and Sims, alongside his party brand ‘Machine’ will take care of the slightly harder end of the spectrum. Top selector Jane Fitz will bring her hugely varied record bag, delving from bumping techno to camp disco, and will be playing alongside her Night Moves comrade Jade Seatle, for a specially-adapted concept dubbed Field Moves.
Mark Archer is also a resident this year, and as a veteran DJ of everything acid house, he’s sure to turn some heads. In the game now for more than two decades, he is joined by Rinse FM’s Brackles. Disco edit don Mark E and Hessle Audio affiliate Elgato have also been announced with Auntie Flo being the last, but certainly not the least name announced in this first wave.
Promising a family vibe and a stellar lineup that is only just getting started, and taking place a mere stone’s throw away the capital, Field Maneuvres is looking like a dead cert for a summer full of distractions.
