Founded in 1994 by Joe Davis, over the last two decades (and counting) Far Out Recordings have cemented their reputation as a key authority on Brazilian music, with seminal releases reaching across legendary artists Marcos Valle, Azymuth and Arthur Verocai. When the London-based label isn’t pushing out releases, the Far Out crew are turning clubs into high energy fiestas, and this week they head to Corsica Studio’s suitably-named South American neighbours, The Columbian, for a Brazilian showcase in our capital.
Ahead of the show we thought we’d ask the label to help us through our current winter blues with a Monday Morning Mixtape packed full of jazz, samba, bossa, funk and Brazillian boogie to warm us up. The mix features a number of Far Out masterpieces, Brazilian classics and lost gems to wrap your ears round.
Far Out Recordings take over The Columbian at Corsica Studios with special guest Patrick Forge, Brazilian specialist Far Out label boss Joe Davis and NTS morning host Charlie Bones on Friday 27th November, with the last few tickets available here.
