His remix of FLC’s ‘It’s You’ might’ve caused Jackmaster to have a meltdown on Twitter and become one of the underground hits of 2012, but there’s a lot more to San Soda than this one track.
If ‘It’s You’ is indicative of one thing though, it’s of the simple elegance that characterises San Soda’s work. With a strong footing in the warm groove of American house from the 80s and 90s, the Belgian producer has found a home at We Play House over the years and is largely responsible for the imprint’s sonic identity. Since the stir of ‘It’s You’ a few years ago, San Soda has found himself in demand as a DJ too, and this weekend he is welcomed in Bristol by the fruit-obsessed bunch, Banoffee Pies. If you’re already in town for Tokyo World, keep the night going a little longer at the Trinity Centre. And if you’re yet to make up you’re mind, you won’t do much better for under £10, with the added bonus of support from our very own Harri Pepper, Ela 303 (Shapes) and Tristan Ferguson.
Tickets are at a measly £8 now, available from the Facebook event.
