Premiere: Deep Space Orchestra – Let’s Save

Chris Barker and Simon Murray, aka Deep Space Orchestra, have been steadily releasing music for the last five years on their own Use Of Weapons label and through imprints such as Delusions Of Grandeur, Quintessentials and Foto Recordings. It’s through Use Of Weapons that their debut album Memory is due to drop later this month, proceeded by an album sampler containing two of the tracks, ‘Let’s Save’ and ‘Voodoo Wingman’ accompanied by a remix of the former from Lord Of The Isles and a Neville Watson remix of ‘Starman’.

Our pick of the sampler is ‘Let’s Save’; a nine-minute epic made up of numerous synth elements slowly coming in, changing and fading out – true to their name, it sounds a bit like an orchestra playing in outer space. Opening with atmospheric pads, a hypnotic keyboard riff appears and the track builds to a glorious climax, moved along by a bouncy bassline and chugging drums, before bringing us back down to earth in the final minutes.

Deep Space Orchestra’s Memory LP Sampler is out September 21st. Pre-order here.
