Considered by DJ’s such as Gilles Peterson, Benji B and Alexander Nut as one of modern funk’s most talented producers, Dam-Funk began his career producing hip-hop instrumentals for other artists before he releasing his signature 80’s indebted electro-funk under the now famous moniker in 2007.
With three solo albums, collaborations with Snoop Dogg and a slew of mixtapes under his belt, Dam-Funk success can be explained by his ability to recreate sounds from the past, without it sounding like a pastiche. The blend of 80’s synthesisers with modern R&B and hip-hop is the key to creating brilliant modern funk music which is as indebted to George Clinton as it is to J Dilla.
With an album ready to drop in September and a new live band on tour ready to match, there is never been a better time to see Dam-Funk.
