What’s better than partying on the River Thames? Partying with DJ Nature, Suzanne Kraft and Otologic on the ones and twos? Check. On a dilapidated, Wes Anderson-style love-motel on floating art installation ‘The Jetty’ at the end of a pier? Check. Free entry? Check. And the list really does go on. TPI’s custom made surround sound, which we had the pleasure of hearing Kenji Takimi take through its paces at their excellent party in Bussey back in November, will be in attendance, as will their giant disco ball.
This’ll all be taking place on the 22nd of August in Greenwich as a day party, lasting from 2pm – 10:30pm. Those who haven’t heard of the selectors can be forgiven despite their evident calibre. Suzanne Kraft makes his UK debut after a 12 months which has produced a debut album, EP’s on Running Back, ESP Institute and Animals Energy, a Boiler Room with DJ Harvey and an RA Podcast.
He’s joined by compatriot DJ Nature making a rare UK appearance. The American veteran has had an illustrious career spanning 30 years, sharing remix credits with Chez n Trent and Carl Craig before more recently making a name for himself as Nature with impressive solo ventures on Golf Channel & Jazzy Sport. Also present is Nick Murray (one half of Otologic) who has recently moved from Melbourne where he ran the infamous Animals Dancing events who bought legends such as Prosumer, Hunee and Marcellus Pittman to the Southern Coast. Since relocating to the big smoke, Murray has begun his own NTS monthly show & works behind the counter at Kristina Records. Rounding the bill are the Stevie Wonderland DJ’s who’ll be packing crates full of disco heat.
For those who’re on a marathon not a sprint tip, the party will then move to a secret Shoreditch art gallery where the party will rage on till 6 in the morning. A special guest will be announced closer to the time, and there’s also promise of a lot of B2B antics and general merriment as things get loose!
