Krankbrother’s Top 10 Mellow Mid-Week Soothers

1111

Crusaders against that mid-week slump of yawns, heavy eyelids and an all-too-distant weekend, London-based DJ duo Krankbrother are here to gently lift you out of lethargy will 10 definitive mellow soothers.

As one of the UK’s leading forces in underground electronic music – encompassing a DJ duo, record label & monthly London party – the Clancy brothers behind the Krankbrother moniker have inevitably procured a mass of unknown and forgotten musical gems from over a decade of experience behind the decks. The programming of their own events has included regular guests Mr G, Omar S, Four TetGerd JansonRoman Flugel, Levon Vincent, Daphni and Tim Sweeney – so it’s safe to say their tastes can be trusted.

The playlist they’ve curated below coincides with their upcoming London street party this weekend (another reason to perk you up mid-week) with FunkinEven, Jus Ed, Kyle Hall and Mark E. Last few tickets are still available over on Resident Advisor.

For more, check out our premiere off Joe Munday‘s Ama’s House EP, out next week on the Krankbrother label.

We first came across this record after hearing the sample being reworked by Nightmares on Wax when we were kids. This little gem opened a whole world of great music to us.

Get a brew on, take a stretch and ease yourself into the week – Minnie can help you.

We came across this record when we saw Gerd playing. Perfect early morning record.

She’s gives the harp a groove that you’ll not heard anywhere else.

Psychedelic craziness and calm at it’s best.

This is the feel good number for the morning.

A one hit wonder but damn is it good. Love playing this out if the crowd is right.

Hindi Zahra’s voice is just hypnotic.

Kieran found this gem – been on repeat ever since!
