We always love shining a light on uncovered talent here at STW, and so when London-based multi-instrumentalist Youngr popped onto our radar recently we jumped at the chance to shout about him.
As part of his own #YoungrPresents series, the producer has decided to re-interpret some of his favourite classic tracks, combining a mixture of the drums, bass, keys, a sampler and anything else in arms reach to create something completely original with every session. Each episode is shot on one camera floating between both performers, emphasising raw musicianship. Every artist brings their individual style and personality to each track whilst Youngr flips the track around for something really special.
Following previous editions in the series, Youngr has taken his hands to the classic funk driven Stevie Wonder anthem ‘Superstition’, showing his versatility and undeniable creativity by completely flipping it into something new with the help of rising vocalist Pepper Rose. Keep your eyes peeled on both these guys!
