Imagine a very dark Room 1 at Fabric. A certain Mr. R. Villalobos is at the decks, and one of your favourite tracks (the Kenny Larkin remix of Kevin Saunderson’s ‘Future‘) suddenly completely gives way to the surging, groovy bass line of this monster of a track from Mr. Tophat & Art Alfie. In one of the boldest moves these ears have heard from Ricky V, he had introduced the crowd to one of the lesser known B-sides from the Swedish pair.
With a disco break sampling the great Loleatta Holloway’s ‘Catch Me On The Rebound‘, and a bass line centred around a low-end guitar melody, this track is immediately danceable, the breaks just serving to stoke the fire. Released in 2013 as the B-side to ‘Kavolrak‘ on the pair’s Karlovak imprint (what a tongue-twister), this is one we won’t be forgetting for a while.
