In the words of 30 Rock’s Liz Lemon, ‘I want to go to there.’ Mood Hut – wherever it is – just has a seemingly endless stream of groovy, incredibly well produced, real-instrument infused deep house. Forming part of the Mood Hut collective, the Pender Street Steppers duo have only had a trio of releases and with this upcoming EP have lowered the tempo just a bit after their 2014 Bubble World release.
A-Side ‘Glass City’ features ambient trumpet on top of a very Sprinkles-esque bass line (specifically ‘Brenda’s $20 Dilemma‘), while on the flip, ‘Golden Garden’ possesses an even slower and whispery loose jam over a Jack J-style groove with lovely bird noises and flutes. Their releases come and go very fast, so don’t sleep on this one.
Mood Hut will release The Glass City / Golden Garden EP later this month. Pender Street Steppers play alongside Omar S, Octave One, Marcellus Pittman and Harri & Domenic at the Just Jack x Stamp the Wax Day Party on 6th June. Tickets are flying out quick so buy yours in advance to avoid disappoint.
