Premiere: Reginald Omas Mamode IV – Sunshine/MoneyMaker

Back with another dazzling release on East London label Five Easy Pieces, Reginald Omas Mamode IV brings yet another warming release to revive and revitalise your ears.

Sunshine/MoneyMaker has the south London groove-junkie assembling more retro-lacquered vocals over golden guitar chords and Dilla-infused beats, enlisting the help of Jeen Bassa and Al Dobson Jr from his Peckham-based 22a family for colourful remixes of each track.

‘Sunshine’ mixes an entrancing vocal line of “I just wanna live in the sunshine” over Motown-inspired guitar loops and wonky rhythms, giving off a certifiably 70’s soul sound mixed with some London grit; think of sun shining on wet pavements for this one. ‘MoneyMaker’ brings out the more romantically-tinged Reggie, with loose beats, saturated guitar tones and tender vocals from the Rye Lane inhabitant.

Vinyl copies of the release are already sold out, though there should be a handful left in good record stores. Alternatively you can download the EP for free right now on Bandcamp.
