Soundcloud Premiere: Craig Bratley – Computer Controlled

Craig Bratley has been chugging his way up through the ranks of the UK underground with an intoxicatingly heavy take on acid infused disco that sits nicely between the dancefloor and headphones.

Helped by previous releases on Instruments of Rapture and Bird Scarer, he’s gained long term support from fellow chug warrior and techno legend, Andrew Weatherhall. His debut LP for Tsuba, however, has taken this further, garnering international attention from the likes of Damian Lazarus and Ewan Pearson. ‘Computer Controlled’ exemplifies what Bratley’s album is all about, as the meaty retro bassline bounces off cavernous claps whilst the nod to 1980s Italo is plain to see in the retro synth-work. Add in some menacing Detroitian pads that Carl Craig would be proud of, and you have an epic, rolling disco-pop thriller that would make any dancefloor loose.

‘Computer Controlled’ is taken from debut LP entitled Buy The Ticket, Take The Ride. It is out now via Tsuba.
