Hiatus Kaiyote – Breathing Underwater

It’s only been a few months since Melbourne future-soul quartet Hiatus Kaiyote gave us a delicious taste of new music with the 3-track By Fire EP; a homage to frontwoman Nai Palm’s father who passed away in a tragic house fire.

We haven’t had to wait long for our first taste of their eagerly anticipated follow-up, pushing more of that brainiac jazz-soul-hip-hop with the multi-dimensional track ‘Breathing Underwater’ off their forthcoming LP Choose Your Weapon. Aside from sounding masterfully psychedelic, the track has a special resonance with us after we filmed Nai Palm performing a stripped-back version back in July 2013, which you can view below.

‘Breathing Underwater’ is the first track off the group’s second LP Choose Your Weapon, slated for release on May 5th via Flying Buddha.
