“Been repenting in confession to a priest who failed to mention he was living east of Eden and south of Heaven”
Astute rhymes from UK rapper Joshua Luke Smith. Curiously, this collaboration between the Bath wordsmith and Cambridge beatmaker Imperial is off a Seattle-based label with an apparent affinity for hip-hop this side of the Atlantic. A spin of the track explains everything; raspy saxophone jazz loops, soulful boom-bap drums and expert flow tugging at existential questions of life. Hats off to James Green too for putting those pious visuals together.
Head to Bandcamp to download the track (name-your-price) and keep it locked on Stamp for more from these guys in the future.
